Cloud 9 is the perfect demonstration of what we do. Because in this case, we were both creative agency and client. How we came to be both goes like this. Our founder, Mike Betcher, can’t seem to let an opportunity simply go by, so he started a gluten-free bakery and told us to “brand it, promote it and make it successful”. And so every branding and marketing decision was ours to make.
When we started, the only thing Cloud 9 had was a name and a gluten-free flour recipe. So in taking it from then to now, we had to develop a brand and marketing strategy, design a store, and create market presence - in other words - we did it all.
The results of our efforts made us happy. In terms of brand awareness, the gluten-free community embraced the brand and products immediately, and continues to do so. In terms of business success, the results were equally encouraging. Everyone from local café’s to retail outlets were asking for products, including the largest club store in Canada.
